A charming and highly sought-after antique English colored match ball in a stunning green colour with a threaded surface for the striking of non-safety matches or Vestas.
The silver mount surrounding the match chamber is hallmarked for Birmingham 1901, late Victorian / early Edwardian in era. The makers initials are also present for the silversmith, Louis Blumfeld.
Excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age, measuring 1 5/8" tall x 1 5/8" in diameter.
