Description

An iconic piece of barware, this silver plated ice bucket / server was made by the top-notch French silversmith, Ravinet d'Enfert, for the French fashion house Hermes of Paris.
This rare and sought-after piece is the perfect equestrian accessory, a simple elegant design with the two horse head handles. It is fully marked on the side. It has just returned from our silversmith's workshop where it has been professionally cleaned and polished, restoring it to it's former glory.
Thierry Hermès on the Grands Boulevards in Paris, Hermès began as a humble harness and saddlery workshop serving European noblemen. Over six generations, the family-led business transitioned from equestrian gear into a global luxury empire encompassing leather goods, silver, silk scarves, and ready-to-wear fashion.
Originally started by E. Tonnelier in 1845, it became Ravinet d'Enfert in 1891 after Louis Ravinet and Charles d'Enfert joined forces. Famed for Art Nouveau and Art Deco designs, the firm created luxury silverware for elite clients—including custom pieces for Hermès—before closing in 1984.
Excellent condition measuring 8" x 5 1/4" x 6 1/2" tall.
