A wonderful vintage vide poche (empty pocket) in silver plate comprising two parts, the dish itself and the removable horse head on a stand.
The dish is fully signed by the iconic French fashion house "Hermes Paris" and "Made In France" together with the makers mark for the top-notch silversmith, Ravinet D'Enfert.
A stylish piece in excellent vintage condition having just returned from our silversmith where it has been professionally cleaned and polished, restoring it to it's former glory; dating to c.1960 measuring 5 1/2" in diameter x 2" tall.
Thierry Hermès on the Grands Boulevards in Paris, Hermès began as a humble harness and saddlery workshop serving European noblemen. Over six generations, the family-led business transitioned from equestrian gear into a global luxury empire encompassing leather goods, silver, silk scarves, and ready-to-wear fashion.
Originally started by E. Tonnelier in 1845, it became Ravinet d'Enfert in 1891 after Louis Ravinet and Charles d'Enfert joined forces. Famed for Art Nouveau and Art Deco designs, the firm created luxury silverware for elite clients—including custom pieces for Hermès—before closing in 1984.
