I recently purchased this privately from a lady who said it had been in her family as long as she could remember, so the heart shaped Vesta has been paired with the sterling bow-shaped pin or brooch for all of this time.The reason I mention this is that the two pieces were put together back then with different English hallmarks; the heart shaped Vesta having a hallmark for Birmingham 1899 / maker: W H Haseler Ltd. and the sterling silver bow with the hallmark a few years later for Birmingham 1902 / maker: W.C.M.
The gorgeous Vesta has a central shield-shaped cartouche to the front which could be engraved by your silversmith if desired. The right hand side is where the strike can be found.
Excellent condition with the Vesta measuring 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" and 3" long in total with the chain and bow pin.
