Description

A stunning and most unusual spirit kettle & stand with the entire stand, handle and spout all cast to resemble tree limbs superbly executed and of top quality.
To tie in with this woodland theme, the body of the kettle is decorated with engraved ferns, very English and typically Victorian. The back of the kettle has a large void which acts as a cartouche which could be engraved as a presentation piece, there are smaller cartouche either side of the kettle.
The hinged lid is too decorated with ferns and the knob to the top is made from creamy Ivory with the usual age hairlines, the insulators in the handle are also made from Ivory.
The handsome stand carries the spirit burner which would be lit to keep hot water close at hand on top of the tea table.
The underside of the kettle has a wonderful mark "Benetfink & Co. 89 & 90 also 107 & 108 Cheapside, London".
A most unusual, top-notch novelty example in excellent condition. Measures 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 14" tall to top of handle.
