Description

A handsome piece of antique Tortoiseshell was used to create this desk-top paper knife or page turner; with stunning markings and colours ranging from golden Champagne to rich chocolate brown.
The shell fits into a sleeve style handle made from sterling silver and beautifully decorated with repousse scroll work and tiny flowers. There is a hallmark for Birmingham 1900 together with the makers mark, G.N over R.H into a shield for the silversmith, George Nathan & Ridley Hayes.
Quite beautiful and in excellent condition, measuring 9 5/8" in length.
