Quite clearly this wonderful pair of Opera Glasses have been tucked away for many years, having remained in such splendid condition.
The metalware is an early Aluminum, still retaining a good silver shine. They are clad with stunning Tortoiseshell with a bright shiny patina; the focus wheel and eye pieces are too made from shell, the later being signed by the London Opticians, Ross of London. The case is original, also marked with Ross from the smartest of London streets, Bond Street in Mayfair.
Quite exceptional in superb undamaged condition, measuring 4" x 2 3/4" extending to 3 5/8" when fully opened.
