Description

A handsome Victorian sterling silver card case, solid made from a good gauge of English silver.
The case is beautifully decorated with shaped edging and a vacant shield-shaped cartouche to the front. The hinged lid opens to reveal the full English hallmark for the highly collectible Chester assay office struck in 1896; the makers mark is also present for the silversmiths, William Neale.
Excellent condition, measuring 4" x 2 7/8".
