A fabulous and very handsome desk-top letter opener, the blade is nickel over brass or bronze and the terminal, which is of course the main event, is a cast bronze head of a Spaniel.
The dog sits on a block of green onyx and is cold-painted with tiny bits of bronze showing through at high points.
A wonderful novelty desk accessory in excellent condition dating to c.1910/1920. 10 1/4" in length x 1 1/2" x 1".
