A most fine and elegant book stand or Lectern, it could also double as a music stand, especially given it's most attractive Lyre shape, made from Rosewood, typically Regency in era.
The hinge is quite splendid carved to create a flush finish while closed for travel or storage.
To give you an idea of scale, the book used in the photographs measures 7 1/4" x 5 1/4". The shelf width measures 10 1/4" wide; the footprint measures 10 1/2" wide and stands 15" tall while standing.
