Description

A fabulous large Jaques Whittington chess set complete with all bone chess pieces, all in excellent condition.
The folding board is secured with two brass hooks, one each side. The Mahogany case is signed with a transfer label "Jaques London" and also "Made In England" dating it to the early twentieth century.
This travel set is a lot larger than most similar ones. When closed, the box measures 11 3/4" x 5 3/4" x 2 7/8"; the playing board measures 11 3/4" x 10 3/4" and each tile measures 1 1/8" square.
