Description

A wonderful and most unusual Victorian letter rack or holder, dating to around 1890, with an Art Nouveau influence noted in the shaped brass handle.
The panels to the front and back are created from a large cast brass sea shell supported on two smaller shells, quite unusual, very stylish and perfect for the beach house.
The base is made from solid English Oak with an impressed mark for the famous manufacturer, William Tonks and Sons.
The piece in superb usable condition, with a few natural fine grain hairlines, shown and mentioned purely for accuracy.
The base measures 5 1/2" x 4" and stands 5 3/4" tall.
