A beautiful English watercolour box by renowned Winsor & Newton dating to around 1900, late Victorian in era.
The box made from Mahogany has an inlaid lid with a central fan and a combined Boxwood & Ebony border framing the lid. The interior of the lid has The paper label, Winsor & Newton, Manufacturers, By Appointment To Her Majesty, And T.R.H. The Prince And Princess of Wales, 38 Rathbone Place, London.
The box is fitted with porcelain paint pots, a ceramic palette (marked Winsor & Newton - Made In England) and a glass water dish.
There is a drawer underneath with opened by removing the brass pin, perfect for storing paints, brushes and other implements.
A lovely box (complete with working key), in excellent condition, measuring 10" x 7" x 2 1/2" tall.
