A very unusual Edwardian card case with the most exquisite decoration a combination of linear engine turning and large foliate motifs. The front lower left-hand corner is designed to create a cartouche for personalized engraving if desired, which is vacant and without engraving currently.
The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1902, together with the makers initials CS*FS for the highly sought-after and esteemed silversmith's, Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings -Frank- Shepherd.
Excellent condition, perfect for holding modern day sized business cards. Measuring 4" x 2 3/4".
