Description

A really terrific pair of Victorian three light candelabra made from silver on copper, a lovely weight and made by a highly sought-after English silversmith, Mappin & Webb of London and Sheffield. Each is clearly marked on the underside.
The central light has a removable flame which acts as a candle snuffer.
I acquired these this week and at the same time found a matching pair of much larger candelabra in exactly the same design, unmarked but of the same period. These two sets together give the most wonderful show on a grand scale (see item # 33000 for this larger pair - I have also included a photo of all four together).
Dating to the late nineteenth century, they remain in excellent condition with a base measuring 4" x 4" and standing 9 1/2" tall to top of flame, the arms spanning 11 1/2".
